If the latest news of BJP MLA from Honnali Assembly constituency demanding reshuffling of Karnataka Cabinet on par with Gujarat Model, it seems a political storm is brewing in ruling BJP in Karnataka.
“Many of us worked hard to strengthen the BJP in Karnataka but some MLAs have been allotted more than one or two plum ministerial posts. I have been appointed as a Political Secretary to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. The post of Political Secretary is like a plastic toy given to a child by his parents during a village festival. It is not helping me to take up developmental works in my assembly constituency,’’ said Renukacharya.
The Honnali MLA has said that he was not demanding a change of leadership (Chief Minister) in the state but a revamp of the State Cabinet to give a chance for MLAs who did not get the chance to join the State Cabinet.
“I have been demanding a ministerial post for quite a long time but in vain. Some MLAs have been succeeding to get plum Cabinet posts in all BJP governments let it be in the Cabinets of BS Yediyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, Sadananda Gowda and Basavaraj Bommai. I want the BJP high command to give a chance to those MLAs, who are yet to become ministers, be included in the State Cabinet,’’ he said.
